"I've never seen that car before," Chyna noted as she and some of the others hung out on the hill.
"Sandra's gonna give him some 'irections," Marissa said as she lay with her head on Chyna's leg.
Chyna and Conchita giggled at the five year-old's oft-repeated mispronunciation of the word "directions". Of course, its similarity to "erections" made it quite appropriate.
"Sandra's great at taking care of erections," Anita joked, making Chyna and Lindsay laugh.
Although she didn't understand the joke, Marissa laughed, too. Lindsay looked fondly at her little half-sister. Since she met her just a few weeks ago, she had found Marissa to be a bubbly child. But there had been an undercurrent of fear in the girl, too, which Lindsay attributed to Wanda, Marissa's mother. However, since Marissa was now living with Chyna and Chyna's uncle, the girl was never less than a little bundle of sunshine.
Lindsay and Marissa shared the same father and had many of his physical features. That was all he had left his offspring as he had been out of their respective lives since Lindsay was a baby and before Marissa was even born.
"Are you lost? Sandra asked as she peered into the open passenger window.
The driver was in a dark suit and didn't have the usual warm or slightly sheepish manner that the regulars did. He seemed cold and businesslike. Ignoring Sandra for the moment, he looked past her shoulder and then pointed.
"Those two up there," he said coolly. "The brown-haired ones by the Hispanic girl and the one with curly hair."
