Victoria returned from the shower feeling fresh and alive. She had no idea what the day held in store for her and the gang, but she was ready for it whatever it was. She descended the stairs in a light cotton summer dress that was a swirl of oranges reds and yellows. It fell to half-way down her calves, but exposed just a little cleavage. It made her feel young and carefree and would be cool and comfortable on a warm day like this; so long as she didn't have to climb any trees.
She swanned into the kitchen with a bright smile. Paul had arrived while she had been in the shower and he had brought Angela with him. He looked up with a broad grin.
"Hey, you look fantastic" he said.
Victoria curtsied beautifully "Why thank, you kind sir" she said.
"Don't normally see you in a dress" said Emily.
"Well, it's summer, I'm amongst friends, and I feel gay" she said "In the old fashioned sense."
"Right now" said Paul "I don't think I could feel any less gay if I tried."
"You behave yourself" said Victoria pulling out a chair and sitting at the table.
"So what's on for today?" asked Emily.
"No idea" said Victoria "I don't suppose the den will be ready yet so we'll have to find something else to do."
"Dad said maybe it'll be finished this afternoon" said Ben.
"You mean by this afternoon or after this afternoon?" asked Victoria.
Ben looked blank "That's just what he said."
"Probably by the end of this afternoon" said Amy.
"You weren't there" complained Ben.
"I'm just guessing" said Amy.
"Well, never mind. No need to argue about it. We'll just have to fill our time some other way and go along this evening, see if it's done" said Victoria.
"I can't wait to see it" said Emily "I really hope there's a shower and a toilet."
"Me too" said Victoria "It'll make such a big difference."
"And a bed" said Paul "A bed would be nice"
